Pedestrian hurt outside L&D

Traffic jams around M1 junction 11

A pedestrian has been hurt this afternoon after being involved in a collision with a car outside the Luton & Dunstable Hospital.

Police closed Lewsey Road shortly before 5pm after the incident which involved a green Ford Focus.

The road remains closed with traffic queuing on Dunstable Road and the area surrounding junction 11 of the M1.

The pedestrian's condition is unclear at this time but a police spokesman said that it is thought that the person's injuries could be serious.
