Parents warned to drive safely

editorial image

As schools open again for a new term, Bedford Borough Council is urging drivers to park safely and legally when picking up or dropping off outside schools across the borough.

The council is working with local schools, teachers and parents to remind drivers of their responsibility to park safely and legally by providing leaflets to schools, as well as advertising with local radio and on the council’s own fleet of buses.

However, the authority will also be enforcing the laws of the road with patrols from parking officers as well as the mobile CCTV unit which, from the first day of term, will target known hot spots across the Bedford Borough.
