b12-834 River Festival 2012

THOUSANDS lined the streets this morning to see the start of this year’s Bedford River Festival.

Walkers, dancers, cheerleaders, and around 30 floats made their way from De Parys Avenue, down The High Street and round to The Embankment.

Headline sponsor of the carnival parade Mercedes Benz had its powerful V8 6.3 litre, £176,000 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster, in full ‘safety car’ livery leading the parade of more than 30 vehicles, and a stunning Mercedes-Benz SLK AMG sports car marked the end.

The parade left De Parys Avenue at around 11.30am.

As it made its way down the High Street families, friends and colleague sgathered to cheer and watch the colourful parade make its way through the town.
