Painting pottery is a fun day out

A POTTERY painting studio has re-opened its doors, at a new Bedford High Street location.

The Kiln, which is owned by Sue Wine, opened on Saturday after moving from its old venue in Ram Yard.

Shoppers now have the opportunity to visit the store and paint pottery as gifts for Christmas, a special or just as a memento for themselves.

For the first time the business now includes a tearooms where visitors can enjoy a range of speciality teas, cupcakes and other refreshments in between art sessions.

The range of items that can be painted, with expert help from Sue and manager Sam Grist, include everything from mugs to giant wedding plates which can be signed by well-wishers on the big day.

Sam said: “Children love painting fairies and racing cars and our mugs, plates and vases are the most popular.

“We also have a mobile pottery which goes to care homes and nurseries.”

Stay tuned to watch a video of reporters Samantha Lewis and Hayley O’Keeffe trying out The Kiln for themselves.
