Oxjam flavour comes to Russell Park kiosk

Charity and small businesses are set to collaborate for a unique event on September 9.

Oxjam Bedford and The Kiosk, in Russell Park are getting together to create a family-friendly day of live music and fun.

From table tennis and pitch and putt, to getting to see the likes of local acts The Nimblewits and members of the Whybirds, the event has something for everyone.

Kicking off at midday local music hero Mat Roberts will also be helping to put the jam in Oxjam by bringing the best of Bedford’s jam sessions down to The Kiosk.

Clare Sullivan, manager of the Bedford Oxjam Takeover, said: “I was delighted when Emma and Nansi approached us about collaborating for an event.

“I think it can be hard for families to access live music in more traditional venues so we wanted to reach out to Bedford’s families and bring them some of the best local talent on offer.

“It’s great that The Nimblewits and Luke and Dave from hugely successful local band, The Whybirds, are coming down to perform and give park-goers the chance to hear some gorgeous melodies in what we’re hoping will be glorious sunshine.”
