New medical boss takes up Bedford reins

Bedford Hospital has appointed its new medical director, the most senior medical role in the trust.

Paul Tisi took on the role last week, having previously been divisional medical director for planned care.

The job will see him 
provide senior clinical leadership to the trust and its board of directors.

The medical director is 
also a crucial link between 
clinicians and the board, 
driving service improvements in patient safety and care.

Mr Tisi said: “I’m looking forward to working closely with all staff and stakeholders in the coming months as we continue with our commitment to work more collaboratively with local partners to deliver better integrated health care.

“I am also keen to further develop clinical leadership 
across the Trust and to 
harvest the skills and commitment of all our clinicians to support us in our journey.”

Mr Tisi, who is a vascular surgeon, will, continue to provide clinical sessions at both Bedford and the Luton & Dunstable Hospital NHS Trust.
