The post office on Queen’s Drive, Bedford is to be refurbished later this month and be relaunched with longer opening hours.
The Post Office has announced it is to the new Post Office ‘local’ service at the McColls store, and will be open seven days a week.
The post office will close on Monday, July 21 at 5.30pm for refurbishment work but the store will remain open throughout.
The new-look service, which will launch on Thursday, July 24 at 1pm, will be provided at an open-plan combination counter in the store, where the post office terminal will sit alongside the retail till.
While work is carried out, alternative post office branches include Putnoe Street post office, 14 – 16 Library Walk, Bedford, MK41 8HF; Church Lane post office, 109 Church Lane, Bedford, MK41 0PW.
The new service at Queen’s Drive post Office will be available during the store’s opening hours, Monday to Saturday, 6am to 10pm and Sunday, 7am to 10pm, giving an extra 61 hours a week for customers to visit.
Post Office and mails services available will include Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, bill payments, pre-order travel money, travel insurance and mobile phone top ups.
