A 700-place sixth form college specialising in pupils aged 16-19 has been approved for Stewartby. This week the secretary of state for education agreed to enter into a funding agreement with Wootton Academy Trust to create Kimberley STEM College.
The new school will specialise in science, technology, engineering and maths. Nadine Dorries, MP for Mid Bedfordshire, welcomed the news. She said: “I want to offer hearty congratulations to the whole team at the Wootton Academy Trust that has made this happen but most especially to Tony Withell and Michael Gleeson, the principal designate of Kimberly STEM College. “The dedication and hard work that has made this a reality will benefit the young people of our area for generations to come.”
