Katie Gregory, who writes the blog There We Go, is one of just six finalists in the Best New Blog category of the MAD (Mum and Dad) Blog Awards, one of the UK’s biggest parenting blog awards.

Mum to Charlie, aged 3, and Rose, aged 1, Katie also made it into a shortlist of ten blogs in the Fresh Voice category of the BiB (Brilliance in Blogging) awards, organised by BritMums – considered the UK’s most influential collective of lifestyle bloggers and social influencers.

Since she started posting regularly in January, Katie’s blog has had an average of 22,000 readers a month. Her most popular post, 8 Home Truths I’d Go Back And Tell Myself As A New Mum, has been read just short of 100,000 times to date.

Katie said: “I started writing the blog when I was on maternity leave last year – I’m a writer and editor by trade, so it was nice just to write something for myself. It started out as a family travel blog, although I’ve ended up writing about day-to-day life with my two kids, and it’s those posts that people seem to enjoy the most. They’re also the most fun to write – particularly the more tongue-in-cheek ones. Getting to the finals of the awards is a bit of a surprise as I’m a total unknown in the blogging world, so I need all the help I can get when it comes to votes.”

Readers can follow Katie’s blog at www.therewegoblog.com and have until May 18 to vote in the BiBs awards at www.britmums.com/awards, and until May 27 to vote in the MAD awards at www.tots100.co.uk/awards.

The award winners will be revealed in June and September.

Sally Whittle, founder of the MAD Blog Awards, said: “Parent blogs are the new bible for modern parents – more than 10 million of us turn to blogs for tips, entertainment and support every single month, and our finalists represent the very best of those blogs. It’s such a diverse community, with inspiring posts, pictures and videos on every topic you can imagine.”
