The cafe in Mowsbury Park, Bedford, is to reopen on Saturday, August 23, for the first time in 20 years.

Now the Four Seasons Café, will open its doors for the first time at 11am with a fun day and mini charity fete.

Nicola Jackson, the owner of the café, said: “I’ve worked in catering for more than 24 years and have always wanted to run my own café. I‘m really excited and looking forward to reopening the café and wishing everyone a warm welcome.”

The opening day will host a mini charity fete raising money for the Dog’s Trust. As well as the usual café offering, there will also be balloon making, craft stalls, face painting and more family fun over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The council ran a tender process to seek an operator to bring the facility into use, including a selection panel featuring the Mayor and Councillors, and Nicola Jackson and the Four Seasons Café emerged as the successful bidder to run a high quality café serving fresh food and drinks throughout the year.

Mayor Dave Hodgson will be to help celebrate its launch. He said: “The new café will only make the popular Mowsbury Park even more attractive to visitors. We continue to work to enhance our award-winning parks and open spaces, and we’re delighted that the Four Seasons Café will be open all year round, benefitting users of Mowsbury Park and bringing the facility back into public use.

The new facility sees Mowsbury Park joining other council-run parks in boasting a new café or concession for park users to enjoy, with Russell Park, Bedford Park and Priory Country Park all having been enhanced in this way in recent times.
