A motorcyclist who died after a collision near Marston Mortaine on Tuesday, August 5, has been named as Stewart Kemp from Wixams.

An inquest was opened and adjourned today, Friday, August 8, on the 34-year-old who lived in Peacock Gardens.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident on the C94 road – the old A421.

The incident happened at around 7.05am as the rider of a blue and white Yamaha R6 was travelling along the old A421 road past Marston Moretaine and towards Brogborough.

As the motorcycle approached the junction with Woburn Road it collided with a grey Audi A4 travelling in the opposite direction.

Emergency services attended the scene but the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead shortly afterwards by paramedics.

The driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries and required hospital treatment while a third vehicle – a green Hyundai Accent – was struck by debris from the collision.

A date for the inquest hearing has yet to be arranged.
