Two more flood warnings have been put in place since last night after the country saw more torrential downpours.

The Environment Agency is urging residents in the South East to be prepared for flooding with up to 25mm of rain expected in some parts of the region over the next 24 hours.

A spokesman for the agency told the Times & Citizen this morning that last night (Sunday) it issued two flood warnings for the River Great Ouse in Bromham and between Bedford and Offard in Cambridgeshire.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: “The water levels have stabilised, but there is still water coming in from Milton Keynes and Newport Pagnell.

“We are not anticipating any more flood alerts, but we would encourage people to check our website for any further updates.”
