Disabled Edwin Townley has been missing since 11am Tuesday (January 14) morning after disappeared from his carers.

A disabled man who went missing in Bedford Town Centre yesterday has been found safe and well.

Edwin Townley, aged 34, from St. Andrew’s Road in the town was last seen in Bedford Library at 11.15am today checking out a DVD.

Police are concerned for Edwin, as he suffered a brain injury a number of years ago, will not be able to find his way home, could be disorientated, has no money with him and due to his disability may not be able ask for help.

Edwin is described as a man of Malaysian decent, 5 ft 9incs tall with a medium build, short dark hair and walks with a slight limp.

He was last seen wearing a dark coat, dark jogging bottoms, white training shoes and a cap.

Police Inspector Mark Farrant would like to urge members of the public to help trace Edwin.

Inspector Farrant said: “The police search for Edwin has been running this afternoon and as the night is now drawing in and it is becoming colder it is imperative that anyone who has seen someone matching Edwin’s description comes forward.”

Anyone with information relating to Edwin’s whereabouts is asked to contact Bedfordshire Police, urgently, on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
