Defence and industry representatives gathered at Millbrook to see a showcase of military equipment.
Those involved in the land equipment sector gathered at the centre to hear more about solutions for the support, upkeep and development of land equipment and capabilities that will feature in the Army 2020 structure.
The event on Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26 was opened by Minister for Defence Equipment, Support and Technology Philip Dunne MP who welcomed visitors to the UK’s biggest vehicle demonstration.
He said: “As we move to an age of contingency, DVD provides a glimpse as to how we are preparing to meet the needs of Future Force 2020. It highlights the innovative technology that industry has developed to enable the Armed Forces to deliver the capability required on operations.”
Attendees came primarily from the DE&S, Army Headquarters and representatives from the Defence Academy, training schools, Joint Headquarters and other key front line commands.
The event allowed industry to hear first-hand from military personnel who have been deployed on operations, and better understand the equipment used by the British Army.
Alex Burns, CEO of Millbrook, said: “We were delighted to be the venue of choice again for the UK’s biggest land equipment show.
“Once again we have delivered a successful event, which enabled companies to showcase their equipment in Millbrook’s unique and versatile venues. The fact that we are able to offer over 70km of test tracks, together with a range of conference venues and exhibition space brings clients back to Millbrook year after year, as DVD has shown.”
