Medals for cadets who complete 100-mile road march in Holland

Air cadets and volunteer adult staff from Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing of have returned triumphant having completed the gruelling 100-mile Nijmegen road march in Holland.

The Vierdaagse - Dutch for four-day event - is an annual walk that has taken place since 1909, being based at Nijmegen since 1916. The teams, including 37 walkers, completed 100 miles over the four days.

With more than 40,000 taking part, it is now the world’s largest walking event.

The cadets and staff earned the coveted Vieradaagse Kruis medal. During their visit the team paid respects to those who died in Operation Market Garden by laying a wreath at the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery. Visit www.bedscambswing.co.uk
