Man suffers cardiac arrest

An air ambulance charity came to the aid of a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest.

Magpas Helimedix attended an address in Bedford in the Magpas Rapid Response BMW.

An East of England Ambulance Service Trust ambulance crew asked for the team after a man in his 60s suffered a cardiac arrest.

The ambulance crew and officers successfully resuscitated the patient, before the Magpas team provided him with enhanced A&E level care - and continued to work alongside the crews to move him safely from the house and into a land ambulance.

The Helimedix then sedated and anaesthetised the man and accompanied him in a land ambulance, to Bedford South Wing Hospital.

On arrival at the hospital, he was in a serious but stable condition.
