A 26-year-old man was kidnapped and assaulted by thugs who demanded money, on Wednesday, August 6.
The incident happened between 5.30pm and 6pm when four men knocked on the victim’s front door in Eastville Road, Bedford.
He went out to speak with the men and walked around the corner when he was pushed from behind and forced in to silver VW car.
The men assaulted the victim and demanded the victim contact his family to arrange for cash to be handed over before driving the victim to Renhold where they pulled him from the car.
The victim managed to run from the offenders but they caught up with him and continued to assault him. The man passed out and the offenders left the scene before he regained consciousness - he then flagged down a motorist who called for help.
The first offender is described as a man with an Asian appearance, 35 years old, 6’2” tall, wearing a polo top and had a French crop style haircut.
The second offender is also described as a man with an Asian appearance, 5’9” tall,pproximately 19 years old, wearing a Nike tracksuit.
The third and fourth offenders are both described as black men.
DC Surinder Ram, investigating, would like to urge anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who can help trace the silver VW car used by the offenders to come forward and contact the police.
DC Ram said: “We have charged a man in connection with this offence but this is still an on-going investigation and as the incident happened in daylight hours people who were making their way home from work could still hold vital information about those involved which could help this investigation.
“It is also possible that other pedestrians or road users may have noticed the silver VW car
parked close to Eastville Road or parked in the Renhold area. I would urge these people to come forward as they may be able to help us trace this vehicle.”
