Man hurt at motorsport event

A man suffered serious head and chest injuries after his car overturned at a racing event at the weekend.

Magpas Helimedx was called to the incident at Wyboston on Sunday afternoon at around 3.38pm.

The flying ambulance charity was called after a stock car overturned, leaving a man in his 60sa trapped inside,

The patient suffered serious head and chest injuries and was unconscious.

A Magpas spokesman said: “The Helimedix team worked alongside a Red Cross team to get the man safely out of the vehicle, before anaesthetising him to protect his breathing, and providing him with A&E level care.

They then flew the man to Addenbrooke’s Hospital Major Trauma Centre, monitoring his condition all the way.

On arrival at the hospital, he was in a critical condition.”

The East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) was also present
