Make a date with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers
IT’S red it’s hot and it’s awesome band shaped and it’s coming to Rock City Art on Friday.
The gallery, in Castle Lane, Bedford will host Suck My Pix, a photographic exhibition by Tony Woolliscroft of his work with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Tony will also be on hand on the Saturday morning giving a seminar on his images the day before the band perform a headline set at Knebworth House. The renowned photographer has worked with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers since 1990 when he was asked to shoot their photographs for RAW magazine.
He said: “The night at the Astoria will always be etched on my mind as one of the best times I’ve ever seen the band and everybody who was fortunate enough to be there agrees.
“I got to the venue early in the afternoon and said my hellos to everyone and I was shown the stage set before the show started.
“The equipment had been painted in UV paint and I was tipped off the band were going to paint themselves in UV paint too. So I quickly went and bought the fastest slide film I could, enabling me to shoot the show without a flash.”
