Bedford Hospital Consultant Manoj Sood appeared on national radio this morning to discuss Luis Suarez’s knee injury which could endanger his place in this summer’s World Cup.
The Liverpool striker, who was last season named PFA Player Of The Year and Premier League top scorer, had been expected to lead Uruguay’s attack at the 2014 World Cup.
But reports from Uruguary say that Suarez has injured his knee in training, and he is believed to be undergoing keyhole surgery today. It is not clear if he will recover in time for the tournament.
Manoj Sood, who is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics, spoke on Radio 5Live’s Victoria Derbyshire Show about the injury, about Suarez’s chances of recovering in time for the tournament, and about what rehabilitation he will go through.
Uruguay will play England in Group D on June 19.
