The Labour party has announced its prospective parliamentary candidate for the Mid Bedfordshire constituency.
Charlynne Pullen will fight for Conservative MP Nadine Dorries’ seat in the May General Election.
Ms Pullen said she will focus on issues such as low pay, part-time work and zero hours contracts in an “era of banker-induced austerity”, particularly how they affect women.
She said: “We need an MP who fights for a recovery made by the many and built to last.”
Ms Pullen hails from Newport Pagnell. As a London Borough of Islington councillor she campaigned to achieve universal free school meals in primary schools, a living wage for all council staff and a council house building programme.
The nomination was made at an all-members’ meeting .
