Luton delivery man beaten unconscious by robber
A Luton pizza deliveryman was beaten unconscious by a robber who set his car on fire and threatened to kill him.
Domino's worker Umair Asif, 21, was returning to his car from a job in Hemel Hempstead when a thug hit him twice on the back of the head.
Mr Asif is recovering from painful injuries after the attacklast week.
He tried to scramble into his car to escape, but the robber slammed him into the edge of his car door and threw him into the middle of the street.
The thug jumped on Mr Asif's chest, kicked and punched him in the face, stole his car keys and tried to kidnap him. He threatened the deliveryman with a knife and said: "Get in the car or I will kill you."
Mr Asif broke free from his grasp and ran away – but he had been beaten so badly that after making it a few yards, he passed out.
The attacker, who was stocky, white and aged about 25, drove the car nearby a nearby road and set it on fire.
