A dedicated fundraiser is warming up to take part in a popular fundraising event in aid of St John’s Hospice, Moggerhanger.
Pamela Wallace, from Bedford, is encouraging people to join her and sign up to take part in the night hike that will see hundreds of people walking together under the stars.
The St John’s Starlight Hike will take place on Saturday, September 13 at 10pm.
Pamela said: “This will be my 6th year taking part in the hike and I cannot urge people enough to get involved. The care at St John’s is second to none and the money raised means that many more of our family and friends will be given this service absolutely free.”
Sue Ryder is inviting local people to join this year’s Starlight Hike to help raise vital funds for St John’s Hospice. £100 could pay for a nurse for a day, providing medical and emotional support to someone living with an incurable illness.
Fay Boissieux, regional fundraiser at St John’, said: “The Starlight Hike is going to be our biggest fundraising event this year and it is going to be really exciting to see so many people walking under the stars through some of the most beautiful settings. We are hoping to raise over £100,000 for the hospice and see more than 1,500 people participating including women, children and men. This year, it will cost £2.4m to run St John’s Hospice so sponsorship raised will be greatly appreciated.
The Starlight Hike helps to raise vital funds and ensures St John’s can continue to provide incredible care for local people living with incurable illnesses across Bedfordshire.
