Investigation into arson at Dunstable garage

Police appeal for witnesses

Police are hunting for an arsonist after a garage fire in Dunstable.

At around 11.30pm on August 23, a garage in Bowland Crescent was broken into and a fire was lit inside causing a small explosion and extensive damage to the building.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, but the owner of the property suffered a panic attack. No other buildings were damaged.

Det Sgt Dale Mepstead, investigating, said: "This was an isolated incident and we were unable to tell if anything was stolen from the garage before it was set alight.

"We are keen to hear from anybody who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area prior to the incident."
