Cycling star Sam Greatrex pedalled into Bedford Hospital on Wednesday afternoon as part of his bid to visit eight Macmillan units across the country in one week.
Sam is cycling 1,000 miles in eight days, starting at the southernmost site in Plymouth, ending at the northernmost centre in Elgin, and also taking in the most westerly (a pharmacy in Ayr) and the most easterly in Colchester.
When he got to Bedford’s Primrose Unit on Wednesday he had already completed 560km.
Sam, who works for Macmillan Care Support, was himself diagnosed with cancer in 1995, but was helped through the experience with the support of the charity’s nurses.
