A miraculous relic, which is said to have supernatural qualities has taken up permanent residence in a Bedford church.
The version of the Miraculous Image Of Our Lady Of Guadelupe, which has touched the original and been given holy relic status by The Pope, arrived in Bedford at the weekend.
Church chiefs judged the people of Bedford to be the most devout when the relic visited the town in 2010. The image, which depicts a pregnant Virgin Mary will go on permanent display in churches across the area from now on.
Pilgrims can view the image at it’s home at St Joseph’s Church, in Bedford from this week. And visitors are also being asked to contribute to £13,000 fund which is needed to restore parts of the relic which have been damaged during the passage of time.
And at the weekend Catholics took part in a series of services and worship events to welcome the holy relic to Bedford.
