Don't forget to pack your essential natural holiday first aid kit

If the warm weather has you thinking of getting away be prepared for any holiday hiccups with a small range of some natural products packed into your suitcase. Your natural holiday first aid kit can include:

Teatree oil

This general first aid oil can be used neat in very small quantities on cuts, stings, rashes, spots, and small infections. Used on bites it may help prevent infection and as an inhalant, from a couple of drops on a tissue, for any nasal, sinus or throat irritation.

Peppermint oil

This is recommended to help prevent travel

sickness and nausea, sunburn, achy feet, headaches and more. You can inhale from a couple of drops on a tissue to help beat jetlag, nausea or fatigue.

Add four drops into a footbath for achy feet or two to four drops into a bath to cool sunburn or hot itchy skin conditions; make sure the oil is well dispersed by adding a little bath foam or shower gel and agitate the water.

Probiotics

To help avoid those tummy upsets and to aid recovery from holiday diahorrea take a probiotic supplement with you. If your stomach doesnt cope well with changes in diet then probiotics can help reduce wind and flatulence caused by over indulgence.

Aloe vera gel

This cactus juice has a wonderfully soothing effect on the skin. It acts against infections of the skin, calms sunburn, and works well on all minor skin traumas. Buy a high quality gel with at least 90 per cent pure aloe vera.

Arnica

Arnica is a homeopathic remedy that comes in a tablet or cream form. The tablets are good for bruising, swelling, sprains, muscle or joint ache. Take one tablet up to five times daily as needed. As with all homeopathics avoid touching the tablet but tip onto a spoon and transfer to the tongue.

The cream will assist bruises and spots.

Rescue remedy This flower remedy can be used for fear, shock, nerves, panic or stress. May help those with fear or flying or other holiday traumas. Use as directed.

Milk thistle and vitamin C

If you have a tendency to over indulge in alcohol milk thistle and vitamin C can help the body detoxify and recover a little faster.
