Gym completes charity 24-hour workout

b12-1224 Staff at Sharnbrook Sports Centre gym are doing a 24hr workout in eighties fancy dress to raise money for Bedford Daycare Hospice.

Fitness instructors at a gym took part in a 24-hour cardio workout to raise money for charity.

Staff members Fran Knowles, Ian Broe, Helena Rea, Nathan Davis and Lisa Holloway from Sharnbrook Community Sports Centre all dressed up in 80s gear and took part in the workout.

They started at 7am on Thursday morning and finished at 7am the following day. They took it in turns to do one hour on and one hour off on cardio machines the rower, stepper, treadmill and bike.

Centre manager Lisa Holloway said: “We were all absolutely knackered, but we did it. We were selling cakes throughout the day and we held fancy dress fitness classes. All our members have been really supportive and generous.”

The group raised over £1,000 for the hospice, which cares for terminally-ill patients.
