Give the gift of life with blood

Spring brings signs of new life and a timely reminder urging people to help someone in need of blood.

NHS Blood and Transplant is calling on residents to attend sessions being held in Bedford and give the gift of life to a person in need.

Blood is needed for a variety of life-saving procedures such as during or after childbirth or treating patients with blood disorders which require regular transfusions.

The service always needs first time donors to replace those who are no longer able to donate, so that the right mix of blood is always available to meet patient needs.

To donate blood for the first time you need to be aged between 17 and 66.

All sessions are at Kings House, Kings Arm Church, 245 Ampthill Road, Bedford, MK42 9AZ.

The next sessions are:

Tuesday, April 19, 12.30pm - 3pm and 4.15 - 7pm.

Wednesday, May 4, 12.30pm - 3pm and 4.15pm - 7pm.
