As part of BP’s ‘Green Lights All The Way’ campaign, the Times & Citizen has joined forces with the firm to give schools the chance to win £3,000 of sports equipment.
We are asking our readers to nominate deserving schools in Bedford and the surrounding areas. All you need to do is write in and explain – in no more than 300 words – why your local school deserves the ‘green light’ for sports. You’ll need to tell us which school you’re nominating, what sports equipment they need and how winning this equipment would benefit the school and pupils. Natalie Cattermole from BP said: “BP service stations are part of the local community, our staff live locally and we serve thousands of local people and others driving to and from the town.
“As part of the fabric of society in Bedford, we want to help fund those up and coming sports stars.
“If you know of a school, please do nominate them. We’re looking forward to lots of great entries.”
To enter simply send your nomination to greenlights email@example.com or post it to Times & Citizen, 11-13 Mill Street, Bedford, MK40 3EU before midnight on Thursday, June 26 with your name and telephone number, plus the school’s name, address and telephone number.
More information on the competition, including terms and conditions as well as judging criteria, can be found at www.bedfordtoday.co.uk.
Once the entry window closes a shortlist will be created based on the judging criteria. We will then announce the shortlist on July 3, with the winner being decided by an email public vote.
You’ll be able to vote for your favourite by email over two weeks in July and the school with the most amount of votes will be announced as the winner before the end of the month.
Please note, voting will be limited to one vote per person.
The competition is part of BP’s Green Lights All The Way campaign to give the green light to local communities.
Terms and conditions apply. For full details of these, visit www.bedfordtoday.co.uk, or email a request for a copy at firstname.lastname@example.org
