GCSE RESULTS: Bedford Girls’ School
Girls, parents and staff are celebrating at Bedford Girls’ School this morning as pupils from the two heritage schools have again scooped an abundance of top GCSE grades.
Bedford High School pupils produced some “stunning” individual results with 39 per cent of pupils on average achieving a grade A.
Records were broken by Dame Alice Harpur pupils with two thirds of all results at A*/A grades, nearly 90 per cent of results at A*- B grades and the A*- C grades reaching a record high of 98 per cent.
Head of Bedford Girls’ School Jo MacKenzie, said “I am delighted that the results continue to impress, especially against the fall in top grades nationally.
“It is testament to the ambition and dedication of our pupils and staff.
“These results are the last public examinations for our heritage schools and I look forward to taking the long tradition of academic excellence forward with Bedford Girls’ School.”
