Flower festival and gardens open in Ravensden

Villagers in Ravensden are holding a celebration of all things beautifully floral to help their ancient church.

The church is hosting a celebration themed flower festival and private gardens will be open to welcome visitors on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19.

For those who fancy something a little less formal as well as a gentle stroll, a wildflower meadow will be signposted.

The event is being held to raise funds for the medieval church which is in need of funds to repair the roof.

Judith Dring, a resident of Ravensden for 30 years and a member of the fundraising team, said: “The weekend promises to be a beautiful event for visitors and the whole village is pulling together to showcase the natural beauty of our village. We hope to raise much needed funds for our church which has been the centre of the community for hundreds of years.”

The event is from noon until 4pm, with entry and parking available at the church. Admission is £3, with under 12s admitted free. Refreshments and plants will be on sale.
