Feeling the effects of these dark winter days is a thing of the past for a Bedford firm which won a national competition.

Design, branding and marketing agency Eat With Your Eyes won a competition to receive an office full of light boxes, designed to help banish the winter blues associated with dark nights and mornings.

The boxes were made by Cambridge-based firm Lumie who have been designing devises to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) since 1991.

Jason Beeby Eat With Your Eyes partner, said: “We are delighted as a company to have each won a Lumie Bodyclock GO and light therapy for the office as we know only too well how hard it is to get up and adjust to the darker seasons.

“We all start work just after 7am and so the difference in light is only too apparent. When you come back to work after the Christmas break and the mornings are dark it can make you feel quite lethargic and getting motivated proves difficult.

“We are keen to see how effective these products will be and who responds to it! Hopefully it will make us even more productive in this gloomy month!”

As well as the loan of 12 light boxes of different varieties staff at the firm were also given a Lumie Bodyclock Starter each to provide them with a quality night sleep and an easier wake up before heading into the illuminated office.
