Family need your help to make fun day a big success
MBCH-04-02-13- Stone Josephs. Stotfold JE WK 6 Lisa Zsentko and her son Stone Josephs. Stone, 15 months, was expected to die of meningitis in November but he has survived. Lisa says it was because of the love and care he was given at Keech Hospice in Luton. However he now has brain damage and has gone back to being a newborn baby. The family are having a charity fun day in June in Bedford to raise money for the hospice.
A family whose little boy was saved by Keech Hospice are raising money to say thank you.
Fifteen-month-old Stone Josephs contracted pneumococcal meningitis at the beginning of November and was transferred to Keech, in Luton for end of life care, but he survived and was allowed to go home thanks to the love and support he received.
And to say thank you to Keech Stone’s second cousin Kerry Ryan, who lives in Bedford, is organising a family fun day in Bedford Park on June 9 in aid of the charity.
She said: “It has been horrible and we’ve been up and down all the time.
“At the moment one minute we are told he is doing really well and then there’s another setback, we are taking it day by day.
“The hospice was just amazing and that is why we want to help by organising this event.”
Kerry and the family are looking for local business and volunteers to help sponsor the charity event so that they can pay for leaflets, posters and insurance.
Anyone who would like to help can call Stone’s mum Lisa on 07979105905 or Kerry on 07401277020.
