Let it ‘bean’ for a new breakfast menu with a difference.
To celebrate it new breakfast menu, the Priory Marina Beefeater Grill in Bedford has recreated the iconic image of The Beatles crossing Abbey Road into a mosaic made entirely out of breakfast items.
Customers voted the striking picture as their all-tiime favourite image after they were asked in a poll.
The restaurant then commissioned food sculptor Paul Baker to design and create a mosaic of the famous Beatles album cover ‘Abbey Road’, made entirely from classic ingredients found in a full English breakfast.
Sam Vaughan, a spokesperson from Beefeater Grill said; “To celebrate our breakfast menu, we wanted to do something to mark an amazing year for Great Britain – and what is more British than The Beatles crossing Abbey Road.
“After a ‘hard day’s night’ a hearty breakfast is the best way to start the day and we hope that the variety we offer at Beefeater Grill will keep our customers coming back for more.”
The striking artwork was created using an array of items from the new breakfast menu including sausages, bacon, scrambled egg, tomatoes, croissants, crumpets, hash browns and toast.
And in-keeping with his preference for vegetarian food, Paul McCartney was re-created entirely of mushrooms.
Others images that made the top five favourite British images, included Bobby Moore celebrating England’s historic World Cup win in 1966, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge kissing on the Buckingham Palace balcony, Winston Churchill holding up the peace sign, and the Queen’s coronation in 1953.
This year also marks 50 years since Britain’s most famous pop band first recorded at Abbey Radio studios.
