Elderly man hurt in crash

An elderly driver was seriously injured following a crash on the A507 near Maulden on Saturday morning.

The East of England Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 7.26am, and the first ambulance was on the scene in around four minutes.

The man, aged around 80 years old, suffered chest injuries and needed critical care.

An ambulance spokesman said: “The crews worked hard to stabilise his condition and he was taken to Bedford South Wing for further care.”
