Drivers warned of traffic restrictions near Luton Airport
M1 at junction 10 and 10a will close overnight
Travel restrictions on the M1 will affect travel to and from Luton Airport from Friday, March 12, until Tuesday, March 16.
In order to complete major maintenance work at Junction 10 and 10a, both carriageways will be closed at different times between Friday and Tuesday.
Motorists and holidaymakers are advised to allow significant extra time for their journeys to the airport.
The motorway will be closed in both directions from 8pm on Friday until 6am on Saturday.
A diversion will be in place via M1 Junction 11/A505/A1081.
From 8pm on Saturday until 8am on Sunday, the southbound carriageway will be closed at junction 10 and 10a away from Luton.
A diversion will be in place via A1081/A505 to M1 J11.
On Sunday, March 14, there will be a lane closure on the northbound carriageway, towards Luton, from 8pm until 5am the following morning.
And the same will happen on Monday, March 15 - lane closures will be in place from 8pm until 5am on Tuesday.
One single lane will be running on both nights.
