Did you witness serious assault?

Police are looking for witnesses to a serious assault which occurred in Bedford last week.

The incident followed an altercation between a white female and a black male in Acacia Road, Bedford on either Wednesday, September 5, or Thursday, September 6, in the late afternoon/evening.

The two people involved have been identified, but detectives are keen to speak with independent witnesses who may have seen exactly what happened.

Det Con Debra Pollard said: “The reports we have received are of a serious nature and it is vital that we hear from anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance in Acacia Road last week.

“There was a lot of noise and a struggle in the street and it is believed that there were people present at the time of this incident and may have witnesses this.

“I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the Acacia Road area between the dates mentioned or from anyone else who may have information – however small or insignificant they think it is – that could help us. Don’t dismiss your information as unimportant – even tiny details which don’t seem relevant now might become useful later on in the investigation.”

One man has been arrested in relation to the incident and released on police bail.

If you have information relating to this incident, contact DC Pollard, in confidence, on 01582 473403, the non-emergency number 101, or text information to 07786 200011. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or online at crimestoppers-uk.org
