A dad - who was left devastated when his teenage daughter was murdered last year - is set to hold another self-defence class.
David Peat has teamed up with kickboxing champ Paul Childerley to offer free self-defence classes to people - in a bid give other victims of kinife crime a chance to defend themselves.
David’s 15-year-old daughter Megan Peat, from Westoning, died after she was stabbed by her boyfriend Andrew Hall at a friend’s house in Ailsebury Road, Ampthill last June.
Earlier this year David, who lives in Flitwick. held a free self-defence class for teenagers, and this time he is offering a free class to adults.
He said: “The first session we held was a huge success, and it was always the idea if it went well we would hold more. We had nearly 30 people attend the last one we had a lot of very positive feedback.”
Urban Street Defence, whose slogan is Back Off, will be holding the next session on Monday, November 18 at Templefield Lower School in Flitwick for people over the age of 13 from 6.30 to 7.30pm,
David added: “Knife crime is still happening, I read about the stabbing last week and it still makes my blood run cold.”
Through donations from family and friends and David’s employer Beds Compressor Services, he has been able to set up this class. To book your place email firstname.lastname@example.org
