The festive season will officially begin in Bedford next week when the Christmas lights are officially switched on.

On Wednesday, November 21, crowds will gather along The Embankment for the event, and see see a special fireworks display.

The show starts at 7pm, and local shops and businesses will be offering special offers and promotions on the night.

And from November 28 shoppers in Bedford can pick up Christmas gifts until 8pm on Wednesdays.

Then on December 17, late night shopping in Bedford town centre will be extended to every weekday night up until December 21.
