A CCTV image has been released by British Transport Police detectives of a man they want to speak to about a theft on a train between St Pancras and Flitwick.
The incident happened shortly before 1.45am on Monday, March 10 as the victim, a 29-year-old man from Bedford, travelled home following a day in London.
Detective Constable Nick Thompson said: “The victim fell asleep on the train after his day out in the capital and, when he awoke, found that someone had stolen his wallet, sunglasses and Breitling watch.”
DC Thompson added: “We have carried out a number of enquiries since the theft took place – and have spoken to several witnesses – and believe the thief left the train at Flitwick and boarded another train to Luton.
“We have also managed to isolate the image of a man we believe has key information about the theft.
“I am now calling on anyone who recognises him to get in touch.”
