BUDGET REACTION: Richard Fuller, MP for Bedford and Kempston
b10-1021 MP Richard Fuller overlooking Westminster Bridge, London.
Richard Fuller, MP for Bedford and Kempston welcomed the Chancellor’s fuel duty freeze as part of Wednesday’s Budget.
Mr Fuller has been a keen supported of the Times & Citizen’s fuel prices campaign which began last year after we discovered that people in Bedford pay on average £40 a year more than residents of Luton.
He said: “Congratulations to the T&C for your campaign on fuel duty.
“I think at the moment this is enough. No-one knows what the future in terms of fuel prices is, he has cut the equivalent of 13p per litre from what it would have been under the last government’s plans.”
And Mr Fuller also praised the Chancellor’s moves to support construction and new home building.
He said: “The chancellor has mentioned a scheme to help people buy new homes and I hope that this will mean that the building industry in Kempston and Bedford will be able to start employing new people. It will help our plumbers, our tilers, our bricklayers and we are working together to help people get back to work.”
