Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour (BBPT) is on its way to Bedford and is set to visit four pubs in the county tonight, Tuesday, August 19.

The BBPT which is in aid of Variety, the Children’s Charity will make its way into town to stop off at Yate’s and The Rose.

The BBPT Passport will leave Leighton Buzzard this afternoon and staff will cycle 28 miles to Bedford, delivering the passport to its next destination, Yates’s on the High Street.

The BBPT Passport will arrive at Yates’s for 8pm where it will be met by a gorilla and the kitchen manager, Martin Cockings, dressed in a blow-up South Park Chef outfit. The chef will hop onto a motorbike and drive to the Rose, located along the same road, for 8.30pm.

The team at Yates’s will continue their fundraising activity throughout the evening and will be joined by a drag artist and one team member has also volunteered to do a sponsored head shave.

Once at the Rose, the passport will embark on a town centre tour with the team at the pub before it continues on the next leg of its journey the following morning, heading to Letchworth and Stevenage.

Each of the 620 pubs and bars from the company are taking part in the event, by organising fundraising events galore to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity. As well as hosting fun events at the pubs, across towns and cities from the Isle of Wight to Inverness, a giant BBPT passport is journeying 5,555 miles throughout the UK visiting each Stonegate business, by an assortment of unique and entertaining methods of transport.

The company has so far raised more than £170,000 in just 12 weeks of the 19-week tour, smashing its original target of £100,000 in six weeks and putting it on track to be the biggest ever single fundraising event in aid of Variety, the Children’s Charity.
