Recycling and waste collections in Aylesbury Vale are set to change over the Easter break.
Residents who normally get their recycling and waste collected on a Friday will not have a collection on Good Friday, but the collection will be made one day later on Saturday 19 April instead.
No other days are affected.
Residents who have signed up to AVDC’s garden waste service should note that their brown bin won’t be collected on Easter Monday, but will be emptied on Saturday 26 April instead.
The council is reminding residents that all the plastic packaging, foil and cardboard boxes from Easter eggs can be recycled, along with lots of other items including food tins and drink cans, empty aerosols, newspapers and wrapping paper.
Residents using carrier bags or bin liners to carry recycling to their bin, to empty the contents into the bin loose are also being asked to reuse the bag or put it in the waste bin.
All plastic bags and bin liners, whether they are marked recyclable or not, are not suitable for AVDC’s household recycling scheme and if the recycling collection vehicles are contaminated by plastic bags from residents’ bins, the entire load will be rejected by the recycling operators, and financial penalties charged.
