Biker dies after collision near junction on old A421 - police appeal for witnesses

A motorcyclist in his 30s has died after a collision near Marston Mortaine this morning, Tuesday, August 5.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after the man

died following the collision on the C94 road – the old A421.

The incident happened at around 7.05am as the rider of a blue and white Yamaha R6 was travelling along the old A421 road past Marston Moretaine and towards Brogborough. As the motorcycle approached the junction with Woburn Road it collided with a grey Audi A4 which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Emergency services attended the scene but the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries and required hospital treatment while a third vehicle – a green Hyundai Accent – was struck by debris from the collision.

PC Martin Longley from the Roads Policing Unit is investigating the incident and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and may have seen what happened.
