Best of luck to all our runners!
Are you one of the thousands running the London Marathon?
Tens of thousands of people from all over the country will take part in one of the greatest sporting challenges known to man.
It is, of course, London Marathon weekend, and among those thousands of people are several from Chronicle Country.
Chris Lucas, of Hitchin Road, Shefford, is planning to run the 26-mile course to raise money for the Cardiomyopathy Association, which offers support and advice to families of sufferers of the disease.
Family friend Emma Hutt lost her partner Adam Drury to the disease in 1994 and her loss has inspired Chris to raise money for the charity.
Chris, 26, said: "After seeing dad run the marathon last year I thought it would be a good challenge for me.
"Training has been going well, except for a few problems with my knees and I'm really looking forward to it.
"I'm hoping to beat my dad's time from last year, which was 4 hours 20 minutes."
You can still sponsor Chris by visiting his website at www.justgiving.com/chrislucas1.
Also running are:
Jon Relf of Cople, running for baby charity Tommys. Sponsor him at www.justgiving.com/jonrelf.
Yvonne Currah of Henlow, will be running for the Retired Greyhound Trust.
Lucy Cope, of Cos Lodge, The Green, Beeston, former England and Great Britain international hockey player.
She is running for The Parkinson's Disease Society (PDS). Sponsor her at www.justgiving.com/lucycope1
Wally Fairweather, 73, of Fairfield Road in Biggleswade is running with his son Trevor for Diabetes UK.
And Sarah Holden, a teacher at Stratton Upper School, is running to raise cash for Keech Cottage.
She can be sponsored at www.justgiving.com/for_nicola
Several members of Biggleswade AC are also running. They are: Andy Bruce, Gavin Elliott, Ian Skerrat, Elaine Stead, Kirsty Heath, Rob Morgan, Nigel Bush, Ray Dowse and Michael Adams.
And, of course, Alistair Burt, the MP for North East Beds, will be running yet again for St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger. Sponsor him at www.justgiving.com/alistairburt1
Best of luck to everyone!
