Bedford duo aim to impress
Veenendaal and Ingle slip to defeat
An entertaining third and final divisional match of the season saw Midlands U18s edged out 22-16 by the North at Broadstreet RFC.
Darryl Veenendaal, of Oakham School and Bedford Blues, and James Ingle, who plays for Bedford School and Ampthill, both took part in a game featuring enterprising rugby and fluctuating fortunes.
The game offered the pair a final chance to impress the England U18 selectors, who are picking a squad to begin training for the Association of European Rugby Tournament in Treviso, Italy, this March.
