Bedford College has been awarded ‘good with outstanding features’ in its most recent Ofsted report.
In Ofsted’s latest inspection at the college, it was praised as ‘outstanding’ across all categories for its work with 14-16 year olds from local schools, with 34 judgments in total - four of them outstanding and 30 good.
The report also hailed Bedford College for helping young people towards employment.
The inspectors said: “Teachers have excellent links with industry and use these effectively to develop high levels of industry-related skills, which prepare students skillfully for the world of work.”
Principal and chief executive of Bedford College for 15 years Ian Pryce said: “Since our last inspection we have taken on and improved Shuttleworth College, created the Bedford Sixth Form and massively expanded our apprenticeship work - this confirms how well we serve our community.
“This is one of the most consistently strong inspection reports in our sector and this report is a real boost for our staff and an even bigger boost for Bedford.”
