Author makes shortlist

Writer Adam in running for prestigious short story award

AN AUTHOR is celebrating after being shortlisted for the Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story Award.

Adam Marek, who lives in Potton, will now be in competition with five other authors for the award and a cash prize of 25,000.

Everton Road resident Adam, 36, is also looking forward to attending the Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival, where he will be taking part in a live discussion with performer and writer Alexei Sayle and some of the shortlisted writers.

The following Friday he will attend a formal dinner at the festival, where the final winner of the competition will be announced, and will see their story published in The Sunday Times Magazine that week.

Adam, who lives with his wife Naomi and their two young children, said he was stunned to be named among the final six.
