Arrests after drug raid
Cannabis factory found in Luton
Police arrested two men, later charging one with drug offences, after discovering a cannabis factory during a dawn raid in Luton on Friday.
Officers found 150 cannabis plants at an address in Hitchin Road and arrested two men, aged 33 and 35, on suspicion of growing the drug.
A full hydroponics lighting system had been fitted and the electricity supply had been tampered with.
Police had to call in electricians to make the property safe before they could complete a thorough search.
One of the men arrested during Friday's raids, 33-year-old Tuan Huu Nguyen, was charged later the same day with two counts of producing a controlled Class B drug.
He appeared at Luton Magistrates Court on Saturday morning where he was remanded in custody to appear at Luton Crown Court on March 26.
The other man who was arrested in connection with the raid has since been released without any charge.
Anyone with information about drugs should contact police, in confidence, on 01234 841212, send a text to 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
